Our extensive property forms a continuous stretch of forest with Cabo Blanco, Costa Rica's oldest nature reserve. Discover the fascinating wildlife and nature of the Cabo Blanco backlands on our private 1.4 miles jungle trail - a mosaic of jungle, rolling hills, mountains and creeks, with some lookout points from where you enjoy panoramic views to Mal Pais, Santa Teresa and the Gulf of Nicoya.

We only have 5 guest rooms in our Bed and Breakfast hotel in Malpais, keeping it intimate, quiet and low-impact.

The village and scenic beaches of Mal Pais are only one mile away downhill, while buzzing Santa Teresa with some of Costa Rica's most coveted surf points is a 15-min drive from our lodge. Montezuma, on the Gulf side, is a 30-min drive from Star Mountain.

For adventure seekers activities abound in the dry tropical rain forest and on the beach. For people seeking a tranquil setting to decompress, we offer you an oasis where the only sounds you will hear are the grousing of howler monkeys and a symphony of birds.
