Hotel Gardens

The flowering gardens at Star Mountain Lodge provide the kaleidoscopic canvas for your experience. The compound bursts with the prismatic hues derived from heliconias, gingers, bouganvillea and a multitude of other plants. The gardens and surrounding jungle also afford habitat for many animals. The variety of flora and fauna is outstanding. Orchid lovers find an array of naturally occurring orchids, and the number of tree species, just close by the pool area, amounts to more than 50 different species.

Jungle Trail

The nature trail through our eco reserve is totally private as access is only granted for guests staying at Star Mountain Lodge.

The path starts right in front of the hotel rooms. The 3 km loop trail passes by 3 lookout points from where you enjoy panoramic round views of the beaches of Santa Teresa and Mal Pais and the Gulf of Nicoya. The hike takes you through mixed habitat, passing through open land, jungle and along rivers. Duration of the round trip is approximately 1.5 hours.

At our info stand in the lodge you can pick up your trail map with information about the forest type of Cabo Blanco and conspicious trees along the trail.
